Leadership Promotion Guidelines

We facilitate this growth through our membership in the Family Heritage Leadership Academy (FHLA). FHLA is an invite-only quarterly leadership training at the Torchmark corporate office in McKinney, TX. Entry Level – Professional Agent: Learn how to invite candidates into our interview process
We reward all our new agents for referring in new agents from Day 1

  • Personal sales contract of 30% first-year commission and 2% lifetime renewals. Your personal sales contract will automatically increase from 30% up to 55% over time based on lifetime personal production. This rest of this section details how to accelerate those increases through team building.
  • 5% first-year override and 1% lifetime renewals on the agents you refer (or “source”)
  • Every week you or one of your agents submits even one piece of business counts as a “SUBMIT
    • NOTE: Commissions paid on all sales forever as long as you are active and appointed

Promotion 1 – Team Leader: Model the process by having new agents follow you and observe how you do business
Qualification: Personally produce every week and recruit one new producer (14 Submits) in a quarter

  • Personal sales contract increases to 35% first-year commission
  • Earn 5% first-year override and 1% lifetime renewals on agents you source
    • NOTE: Promotion is achieved and reviewed on a quarterly basis

Promotion 2 – Field Director: Take 100% responsibility for training new agents
Qualification: Team production (includes personal) of $75,000 and 30 Submits in a quarter

  • Earn an additional 5% first-year override on agents you manage
    • NOTE: Promotion is achieved and reviewed on a quarterly basis

Promotion 3 – Market Director: Run your own interview process, on-boarding and licensing all new hires
Qualification: Team production of $125,000 and 50 Submits in a production quarter

  • Personal sales contract increases to 40% first-year commission
  • Earn an additional 5% override on all new team members you interview, hire, get licensed, and get qualified for sales academy
  • Responsible for 25% of all operational expenses in running your business
    • NOTE: Promotion is achieved and reviewed on a quarterly basis

Promotion 4 – Regional Director: Open an office to support your agency growth
Qualification: Team production of $700,000 and 280 Submits in a rolling 12 months

  • Hierarchy Contract of 50% first-year and 4% renewal (50/4) on your entire business
    • If you hire a new agent at 30% first-year and 2% renewal, you maintain the difference of 20% first-year override and 2% renewal override
    • All Team Leader, Field Director, and Market Director overrides are paid out of your Hierarchy Contract
  • Responsible for all interviewing, hiring, onboarding and training of everyone on your team
  • Responsible for 50% of all operational expenses in running your business
    • NOTE: Promotion is achieved in a rolling 12 months

Promotion 5 – National Director: Sales Director in training
Qualification: Team production of $1,000,000 and 400 Submits in a rolling 12 months

  • Hierarchy contract increases to 55% first year and 5% renewal (50/5) on your entire business
  • Responsible for 75% of all operational expenses in running your business
  • Responsible for all the same reporting, leadership and management on their group as an Agency Owner.
  • Participate in exclusive training and mentoring from their FHL Sales Director and the National Sales Staff of Family Heritage Life
    • NOTE: Promotion is achieved in a rolling 12 months.

Promotion 6 – FHL Agency Owner: Branch off from WorkFORCE and brand your own company
Qualification: Team production of $1,500,000 and 600 submitting agents in a calendar year

  • Overall contract increase to 70% first year and 7% renewal
    • See Sales Director Manual for specific guidelines (this format serves only as an overview)
  • 100% resources provided by the National Sales Staff at Family Heritage Life
    • NOTE: Promotion is achieved in a FHL Calendar year.
